I grew up in Elizabethton and attended West Side Elementary, T.A. Dugger Junior High, and graduated from Elizabethton High School. After graduating, I attended ETSU and received my degree in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career in 1998 at Fairmont Elementary in Johnson City. In 2004, my family moved to Spartanburg, SC and I began teaching at Hendrix Elementary School. During my time at Hendrix, our school participated in the accreditation process to become an IB school. In 2008, we returned to Tennessee and I began teaching 6th grade math at T.A. Dugger Junior High. This year, I began my new role as an Assistant to the Principal at East Side and West Side Elementary Schools. I am very proud to work in two wonderful schools in the hometown I love.
